follow I haven’t had time for any selfish sewing lately, until an upcoming wedding gave me the perfect excuse to put all work aside and start dreaming up a wedding guest dress.
I found a gorgeous guipure lace in peppermint green and decided to pair it with a white lining to keep the green from being too overbearing. I was determined I wanted to add trims in matching colour, despite not being able to find anything even close to the same colour in fabric shops. So I walked around a shopping center with a fabric swatch in the hopes of finding a matching garment, sheet, tablecloth, anything! I managed to find a cotton shirt in the exact colour. Lucky me it was on sale and a size xl, providing plenty of fabric to work with. I chopped it up and cut some bias strips from the back piece. It’s not exactly a formal fabric but I’ll make it work.
Here are my supplies and the pattern I’m using for the basic measurements.
